Point and Click (Hot Spot/Hot Area):

In these types of questions, the candidates will be given a project scenario and an image. Based on what the scenario says, the candidate will be asked to click on a specific area on the image as an answer to the given question. This image can be a graph, chart, diagram etc. For hot spot, the area chosen by the candidate will be marked with an X. For a hot area, as the candidate moves their mouse over the image, the specific area of the image will be highlighted upon clicking on the area.

Enhanced Matching (Drag-n-drop):

For most enhanced matching (drag and drop) items, candidates will see two columns of boxes. They will be given a scenario and will need to match the boxes on the left with the boxes on the right (opposite for Arabic candidates). The candidates will need to drag the items from right on to the empty boxes to match them with the items given on left.

Animation video:

For animation video items, candidates will watch the animation video. Candidates can watch the animation multiple times and use the video controls to start, stop, rewind, etc. Based on the scenario, the candidate will be presented with a multiple-choice question to answer. Candidates will receive headphones at the testing centre. The animations will have audio and will also include closed captioning.

Comic Strip:

For comic strip items, the candidate will read the comic strip. The candidate may need to scroll down to see the complete comic strip. Based on the scenario in the comic strip, the candidate will be presented with a multiple-choice question to answer.

There will be one question to be answered for each animation or comic strip that is viewed. Candidates that take the CAPM via online proctored testing (OPT) will only view comic strip questions to ensure there are no sound issues.

Free CAPM Sample Question No.2:

Question Type: Multi-select

The agile project team is executing the work as part of their fourth sprint. The cost of work planned for the sprint is $4000. They are half-way through the sprint and completed the work whose value is $1500. Till now, the team has consumed $ 2200 already. What is status of the sprint? Choose two.

  1. Behind the schedule
  2. Ahead of schedule
  3. Over budget
  4. Under budget

Answer: A and C

Explanation: EV (Earned Value ) = The value of work completed = $1500

PV (Planned Value) = The cost of work planned

For whole sprint, PV = $4000

Since, they are half-way through the sprint PV = $2000

Actual Cost (AC) consumed till now = $2200

For determining the status, we can use,

Schedule Variance (SV) =  EV- PV = 1500 - 2000 = -500, since schedule variance is negative, the project is behind the schedule

Cost Variance (CV) = EV - AC = 1500 - 2200 = -700, since cost variance is negative, the project is over cost.

Question Type: Hot-Spot

Refer to the burn down chart below and answer the following question:

Based on the chart, which of the following statements is true?

  1. The team is ahead of schedule and will likely complete all the story points before the sprint ends.
  2. The team is behind schedule and will likely need to extend the sprint to complete all the story points.

a.

Estimation involving breaking down project work into smaller components and estimating each component separately.

2

Parametric Estimating

b.

Estimation using three values (optimistic, pessimistic, and most likely) to calculate an average or weighted average estimate.

3

Three-Point Estimating

c.

Estimation involving a statistical model to predict costs or duration based on historical data and variables.

4

Bottom-Up Estimating

d.

Estimation based on historical data from similar projects.

  3. 1 – d; 2 – a; 3 – b; 4 – c
  4. 1 – a; 2 – c; 3 – b; 4 – d

Answer: B

Explanation: Analogous Estimating also known as top-down estimating, this approach uses historical data from similar projects as a basis for estimating the current project. Parametric Estimating technique uses statistical relationships between historical data and other variables to calculate estimates. Three-Point Estimating method uses three estimates—optimistic, pessimistic, and most likely—to derive an average or weighted estimate, often using techniques like PERT (Program Evaluation and Review Technique). Bottom-Up Estimating method involves breaking down project work into smaller components, estimating the cost or duration for each component, and then aggregating these estimates to get the total project estimate. • Customer: "The dashboard looks great, but I noticed that the report generation feature is missing some key metrics we need."

Panel 4:

  • Scrum Master: "Thank you for the feedback. Could you please specify which metrics are missing so we can address them in the next sprint?"

Panel 5:

  • Customer: "Sure, we need the following metrics: user engagement, activity history, and real-time performance data."
